Chris WilliamsChris Williams

Hello from El Paso, Texas. Let me introduce myself. My name is Chris Williams, or more affectionately called “Duc-T”, which is short for Duct Tape; there’s a long story behind that one. I am a retired Sergeant Major from the United States Army and myself and my family has made this area home. I also am a Missionary Rider for Cycle Disciples in this area and, I am a founding member of Chapter 58, Texas American Legion Riders Motorcycle Association. A few years ago, before we moved back to El Paso, I was sitting on my front porch in Oklahoma, unemployed with a family and a house payment in Oklahoma and El Paso and nearing wits end, on what I could do and what I should do. Ever since I retired from the Army, I wanted to do something where I could ride with a cause. But the finances were looking as though I might actually have to sell the bike, just to make ends meet for only a month. As I sat on my porch, really perplexed on the situation and wanting to play the old personal sympathy violin, I remembered my friend; our brother, our father, our savior. Ever since I became reunited with him, sitting in some forsaken Asian country, he has never let me down. All I had to do was turn it over to him and ask for his guidance. How easy was it and why didn’t I remember that. It’s because I was trying to solve my problems by myself. That doesn’t work. As soon as I asked Jesus what I should do, the answer was instantaneous; move back to El Paso. Go home and what you want to do will be there. When I told my wife we were moving back home, her first words were; how? We don’t have any money. I told her, have faith. Within a month I had a job back here, obtained over the phone. That was all we needed to move. We’ve been home for three years and, the rest is a long story; however, Jesus allowed me to Found Chapter 58. We are a Motorcycle Association, affiliated with the American Legion, serving our community. We have raised enormous amounts of money and given it to; shelters, hospitals, children, veterans in need; the list just goes on. I started this organization because CMA is rather large in this area and they have a good hold on what they do but, there wasn’t anyone in the M/C world doing what we are doing now. No one could ever convince me, I’m not doing the right thing in the right place. Chapter 58 is not a Christian Organization however, there are a number of Christians within the Organization and, that is what makes us so successful. God Bless you, ride safe, ride with Him and if in El Paso, please contact me.
